Hypnosis is the induction of an altered state of consciousness which lies between the waking state and sleep. It is generally brought on by an individual by the use of a combination of concentration, relaxation, suggestion and expectation. Applied altered states of consciousness are states that we choose to enter into by using a specific mental or physical technique that has a specific outcome in mind. Examples of this are meditation, prayer, or creative visualization.
There are multiple ways to “connect” to a higher power, and they normally involve the use of an ASC (altered state of consciousness) like prayer, meditation, dreamwork, hypnosis etc.
Are you at the point where you’re ready to create positive change in your life? Are you wanting to learn more about yourself on a soul level? Are you curious about your lives before this life, and about what lessons may be recurring struggles for you? A past life regression is exactly what you need to explore the more deeply stored parts of yourself.
How about a recurring dream, or a dream that just stuck with you for a while that you don’t quite understand but can’t get out of your head? Maybe an awful night of sleep paralysis, or even a pattern of sleep paralysis plaguing you? A hypnotic dreamwork session may be what you’re looking for to better understand the mysterious and cryptic messages we sometimes receive through our dreams.
Have you been experiencing changes spiritually, or would you like to strengthen your intuition and relationship to spirit? Have you been receiving signs and messages from spirit that you want to better understand? Do you want to meet your spirit animal[s], or learn what angels, ancestors and spirit guides that walk with you? A spirit animal or spirit guide session may be exactly what you need to create clarity in your life and help strengthen your spirituality.
Pre-hypnosis Interview: The first thing we’ll do is get to know eachother a little better through a client interview. I’ll ask a little about you and your goals for the session, and give you more information about hypnosis. This can be a time for you to ask any questions or notify me of any concerns you may have.
Hypnosis: This portion of the session will consist of a few different parts. Beginning with the induction, which is used to induce a hypnotic state. It marks the beginning of the hypnosis session, and followed by the induction is the deepening portion. It varies only slightly from the induction, but the purpose of the deepening is to take you further into a deeper state of consciousness. Following the deepening is the therapy portion of the session. This is where we regress, explore and learn about the issue at hand, introduce positive suggestions to incite and inspire change, as well as offer any post hypnotic suggestions to be carried out in the future. After this, an awakening procedure (like counting) is used to bring you out of trance and back to a full waking state.
Post session interview: After the hypnosis session, we’ll have a discussion about what you experienced, what changes or goals were accomplished, and I’ll answer any questions you may have about your experience.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
Yes, everyone can be hypnotized. Hypnosis is an applied altered state of consciousness, but we enter usual ASC’s automatically when we do things like daydreaming. People differ in the degree that they respond to hypnosis, but everyone can be hypnotized. A person's ability to experience hypnosis can be inhibited by fears and concerns arising from some common misconceptions, which is why during our session I’m happy to dispel any myths or concerns by giving you as much information as you need.
Is it possible to not be able to awaken from hypnosis?
Anyone can exit hypnosis at any time; and generally awaken from hypnosis pretty easily. Sometimes people resist awakening or may have slipped off to sleep, but they can always be brought out of trance.
Does hypnosis causes people to lose control or reveal secrets?
Since hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation, sometimes people do tend to share more than they normally would in a waking state. This is not cause to worry though, because secrets won't be shared unless the client wants to express them. Hypnosis does not detach ego or will; so clients have a subtle awareness at all times that they are under a relaxed state of mind. The state of homeostasis the client would usually maintain in the waking state will still be present, hypnosis does not cause a loss of control.
Is hypnosis is a form of brainwashing?
Hypnosis is not a form of brainwashing. You may have seen videos or performances in cases of hypnosis being used for entertainment where people may cluck like a chicken or act silly, but they never do things against their morals, values, or better judgment. During the session I will offer suggestions that the subconscious mind can choose to either accept or reject. If the suggestions are in alignment with the clients values and beliefs, the client is more likely to accept them. Hypnosis has nothing to do with breaking down or surrendering one's ability to rationalize. It is a pleasant and safe process of relaxation and suggestion, automatically keeping self preservation intact.
